A poem about love at first soul sight

A silhouette of a couple (man and woman) staring into each other’s eyes on a rooftop overlooking a city view at night.

They say love at first sight
Is a total and utter lie
To be infatuated
Or in lust, yes.

But in love in an instant?
Is insanity
Knocking at your heart’s door
Or playing some kind of mind trick
Maybe we’re playing just for kicks.

Or maybe we’re both insane
Regardless I’d rather be
Insane together
Then a sane soul alone.

About this Poem:

This poem is simply about embracing love, at first sight, a concept that could be deemed impossible or “insane” to the average person. The character in the poem is saying that they’d rather be insane falling in love at first sight than be alone and never have experienced love at all because there’s serenity in surrendering to that blissfulness.
